The third installment of “Shiver” sounds, I think, more like #1 than #2 … it’s going for a lovely, happy, swirly sound, but still with enough melancholy and dissonance mixed in to keep it from turning saccharine. “Bittersweet”, to coin a phrase. I think it’s quite tasty, and may all your shivers be joyful ones.’

Happy Fun Summer Mix 2011! Originally a present for three friends with May birthdays, it’s now open to all. I’m very happy with how it turned out – from chiptunes to synthpop to techno to shoegazer to rock, it’s got a nice vibe.

This is a mixtape I made for my kid sister Karen way back when. In August 2010 I rounded up MP3s of all the tracks (except the Värttina song, which I couldn’t find) and re-mixed them digitally, adding some segues. It’s still a fun mix.
